London-based Hoxtonlab has spent fifteen years on British sets and in British post houses — Bond, Netflix, Apple TV, Universal, Sony. Since 2022 it has also worked alongside partners across Italy and the Mediterranean, its base in Europe — closing co-productions as far as Belgium and the Netherlands, and bringing public funding back within reach of UK producers.

UK independent film hasn't lost its craft — it's lost its ecosystem. Direct access to Creative Europe funding ended after Brexit, its domestic replacement covers a fraction of what was lost, and international co-productions fell by almost a third in a single year. Hoxtonlab is the route back in — a London-rooted production company based across Italy and the Mediterranean, and from there, into Europe more widely, wherever public co-production funding still runs.
